HMS Cavalier Mural

Volunteer Carole MacAlpine is shown here painting a ‘3D’ wall mural of the seamen’s mess of HMS Cavalier. Thanks to Richard Johnstone-Bryden for providing the image on which the mural is based. This is part of a new exhibition on HMS Cavalier to celebrate the naval destroyer built in Cowes in 1944. The exhibition is a work in progress with Chatham Historic Dockyard (where HMS  Cavalier is on display as a museum ship), the Isle of Wight Heritage Service and the Cowes Hammerhead Crane Trust.
